The Dutch Cross Country Championships on the E3 strand in Eersel
On 16 and 17 December 2023, the Dutch Cross Country Championships took place. And our beautiful North Brabant town of Eersel was allowed to host. In fact, the NK Cross was held on the beautiful E3 strand in Eersel, with AV DES, Eindhoven Atletiek and GVAC joining forces to organise the NK Cross. And in the weekend of 16 and 17 December the time had come! On Saturday 16 December the masters, among others, competed and on Sunday 17 December the juniors and seniors from the Dutch top competed to win those coveted medals.

This year, Visit Eersel was proud name sponsor of the Kidsruns, because how wonderful it is to see so many children running and enjoying themselves on the E3 strand beach during this wonderful event!
The SPAR NK Cross Eersel was organised from a trio of Kempische Atletiek associations, namely AV DES, GVAC and Eindhoven Atletiek. These associations have years of experience in organising various cross-country races and during the weeks just before and during the event, around 250 dedicated volunteers from the various associations were busy setting up the event.
And what a beautiful weekend we had! From the early morning, the E3 strand beach was already buzzing with activity. Participants from all over the country lined up at the start and in the end they ran super hard! Finally, on Saturday the Masters were allowed to start for the NK Masters, where the first gold, silver and bronze medals were distributed.
Fanatical riders
We ourselves from Visit Eersel were also able to attend with our stand. Together with the volunteers during this fantastic event, we
creating fans for our cosy municipality. The decor in this setting, our creative, beautiful and unique articles for sale and of course
the friendly enthusiastic people and fanatical cyclists made it a successful day!
We concluded Sunday with the NK Korte Cross for women, after which gold, silver and bronze medals were again distributed.
It was a sporting weekend in which we sometimes saw dogged faces, exhaustion but often also
tears of joy at the finish line. In short, a successful success!
