Thirty pairs of arms stretch to the blue sky and clouds on Saturday 8 June
From soothing the wind in your hair and the sun on your face during a Beach Yoga Session to getting your breathing under control in an ice bath with thirty kilos of ice cubes. On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June, the third weekend of Eindhoven Backyard events took place. With each weekend having its own theme, it was 4 consecutive weekends (from 25-05 to 15-06), each time all about being sporty in the outdoors. The aim of the organisation is to make the Kempen municipalities (Visit Eersel, Visit Bladel, Visit Reusel-De Mierden and Visit Bergeijk) better known to Eindhoven residents and Internationals. They supported with subsidy, on condition that it would also be accessible to people with a small budget and with a disability. Relax In The Woods, one of Eindhoven Backyard's events, more than lived up to that!

The scene of peace and quiet
During the Relax In The Woods event, you could enjoy various free workshops and activities in the nature around Eersel. De Panberg and Recreatiepark TerSpegelt, tucked away in the Eersel woods, set the scene for the peace and quiet that participants could experience during the weekend of 8 and 9 June. With Mountain E-Trikes, guide Sabrina Schoenmaker lets people with disabilities enjoy nature in the woods. Others engage in forest bathing - a meditative way of walking with all your senses - or a 'regular' guided forest walk.
You might even come across real gnomes!
But also Wouter de Haas, who participated in this year's TV programme 'Kamp Van Koningsbrugge', teaches participants how to completely relax. The workshop, like all the others this weekend, is free and first to be fully booked. Sitting on tree trunks, the group receives breathing instructions, after which they climb one by one into the cold bath, which is cooled with 30 kilos of ice cubes.
Meanwhile, families walk the discovery trail or the Kabouterpad walk. With red pointed hats and red painted cheeks, little ones will meet live gnomes from the TerSpegelt recreation team there.

While some started the day with an intensive Bootcamp & Outdoor Gym, others ended the day with a cool Pump Track Clinic. However intense or restful the day ended, all participants received two vouchers with great discounts, hoping for a repeat visit to the Kempen Municipality of Eersel.
