Three days of fun in Eersel
Finally the time had come again, the tourist days in Eersel could take place again! Three sun-drenched Thursdays transformed Eersel's Markt, the Hint and the Nieuwstraat into the cosiest fair in Brabant. The tourist days have been a household word in Eersel for decades. After a two-year hiatus due to Corona, Visit Eersel looks back on a successful edition this year.

A great success
Tens of thousands of visitors strolled past the many stalls with various products. There was something for everyone to browse: from dog treats to dresses and from toys to (old) books. Of course, there was also plenty of snacking and entertainment and street theatre. De Muzenval acted as the perfect resting and changing location for the performers, while Lunch & More provided delicious soup and sandwiches. EHBO Eersel fortunately did not have much work; apart from a few wasp stings, there were no emergencies.
Everywhere at the fair there was something to see and do. The shopping lady with her little dog. You had to be careful not to flatten him! And wait, was that a bug on my neck? No, it was Jack Desalles' feather, pretending nothing was wrong. Hilarity all round. In the children's square, it was a real party. From a life-size chessboard of the Steensel chess club, the merry-go-round, catching ducks, bungee-trampoline jumping to the jokes and antics of Clown Cees, nothing was too much. Besides hilarious acts, there was also room for wonderful storytellers like the Flying Dutchman, who told of how he would be doomed to sail the world's oceans forever. The last day was not only tropical in terms of temperature, it also ended with a tropical touch. No one could stay still to the South American rhythms of Samba band A Batucada. Not even the beautiful - walking on stilts - seahorses.

A package for the neighbours
Of course, we were there ourselves with our own Visit Eersel stall. We advised numerous people, both tourists and residents of our municipality, on fun cycling and walking routes and sold various regional products. Especially popular were the stickers and magnets with the Eersel skyline on them, but also lovely packages 'for the neighbours who take care of the cat'. These almost always included a nice bottle of (regional) beer!

Enjoying a terrace
From one of the many terraces, it was great to enjoy the view towards the shoppers strolling by and all the festivities. Many catering establishments had extended their terraces especially for the tourist days to provide all the public with a nice cold drink and a delicious lunch on these days. Dinner was also taken care of, as live music could be heard until late in the evening. With performances by Kevin & Lindsay and Duo Driven, among others, who let the guests enjoy delicious acoustic hits, the marketplace was lively for a long time.
We thank all our partners, participating retailers, catering establishments, market vendors and volunteers who managed to make this edition a success. It was the first time for Visit Eersel to organise this beautiful event, but we were able to draw on the experience of our predecessors. Whether it was a safety plan, setting up fences or arranging stalls, there was expertise to be found everywhere. Of course, we also give special thanks to the visitors to the Tourist Days. Because without them there would be nothing at all!
