During the Open Monumentendagen (Heritage Days) on 12 and 13 September, several monuments in the villages of Eersel, Knegsel, Vessem, Duizel, Steensel and Wintelre will again open their doors for free. It is the chance to visit a place you would not normally visit so easily. There are also extra activities such as exhibitions, guided tours, cycling routes, walks and musical performances. Click here for the full programme.
Our region has a rich history. Churches and chapels, residences and other monuments recall times long gone and all have their own story. These stories have often been written down and can be traced, but during the Open Monument Days, volunteers who care for the monument give guided tours and are happy to answer your questions. This way, you can really experience the stories at the time as well as learn more about the history.
