History of Landgoed Baest
Landgoed Baest is more than 800 years old. In 1225, the estate was owned by Berne Abbey; from 1317 by Tongerlo Abbey; and in 1559, the diocese of 's-Hertogenbosch became the owner.
After the Peace of Munster in 1648, the estate came into private hands. For the last 250 years, it was owned by one family. In 2008, it was transferred to a foundation that maintains the Estate Historical Countryside.
The estate covers 500 hectares, 262 of which are protected national monuments. It was named Brabant's most monumental estate in 1997.

A special estate
The estate features an imposing white country house in classicist style - Huize Baest - in a park-like setting with monumental trees, gardens based on the eighteenth-century English model and a special group of outbuildings.

A special estate
The estate features an imposing white country house in classicist style - Huize Baest - in a park-like setting with monumental trees, gardens on an eighteenth-century English model and an unusual group of outbuildings.
Outside the enclosure is a landscape with ancient lanes through which the streams of the Kleine and Grote Beerze meander and continue to flow 's-Hertogenbosch. Pine woods and deciduous forests alternate with fields and meadows. This is a wonderful place to walk in all seasons.
There is also a Theresia chapel on the estate; to find out more about it, click here.
