In the RK cemetery parish 't Hof, on the Hulsakker in Bergeijk rests Johan Jansen. He was the first soldier from the village to die fighting the German invasion at Sint-Oedenrode on 11 May 1940 at the age of 33. The helmet of the Dutch army marks his grave as a tribute to Johan's bravery. Among his comrades, he was known as the soldier who waited for nothing. At 't Hof, there are several catering establishments for a drink and snack.
