Romeinse Villa

A chic stone villa, with underfloor heating and bathing facilities. Sounds good, doesn't it? It was the home of Roman Titus Flavius. Originally, this veteran came from the area we now know as Hoogeloon. In the first century AD, he returned to his native soil after a successful career in the Roman army. He was a wealthy man, and that was to be seen, in the form of this villa. Pretty showy, for its time. After all, underfloor heating and a private bath were by no means common back then.
