Ommetje Lille Vessem
During this extensive walk, you’ll discover the historic heart of Vessem. You’ll pass the impressive 15th-century Lambertuskerk , charming little chapels, the Jacobusmolen and authentic farmhouses, such as the long-fronted farmhouses that are so characteristic of the region. The old houses and village streets also tell the story of centuries of life in Vessem. The route also passes a sand quarry. This quarry was dug around 1975 to reveal the geological strata from the Ice Ages.
This walk takes you through the charming village centre of Vessem, past the imposing Lambertuskerk, atmospheric chapels, Jacobusmolen and authentic farmhouses. You’ll stroll through streets where history is still very much alive.
Fun fact: With a ‘flight’ of 28 metres, the Jacobusmolen is the largest corn mill in the Netherlands
