Book launch and music: Edith de Boevere – Beyond the Boundaries of Truth

In ‘Beyond the Boundaries of Truth’, people seek solace in memories, files, conversations and traces from the past. But what if a memory changes, a file conceals more than it reveals, or a story determines what you can still see? In this novel, comprising various stories, you’ll read about the human urge to understand what happens to ourselves and others, and about what can never be fully known.

From library assistant to author: Edith lives in Eersel and worked for many years at Bibliotheek de Kempen. Her brother Rens, with whom she co-wrote this psychological novel-in-stories, lives in Siem Reap, Cambodia. How do you write a book together when there are thousands of kilometres between you? During this evening, Edith will explain how their collaboration came about and how separate stories gradually became interconnected. Of course, she will also read short excerpts from the book.

Rens has written a song based on eight stories from ‘Beyond the Boundaries of Truth’. These songs are written in various languages and thus offer new interpretations of the original material. You’ll hear various music clips and Edith will tell you how the songs came about. The music accompanying the book can be listened to via the accompanying website www.overdegrenzenvandewaarheid.nl.

Those wishing to find out more will also find the full song lyrics, translations and a brief explanation of each song. Stories and music come together It will be an evening for anyone who enjoys reading stories, is curious about how a book is created, or wants to hear what happens when stories and music come together. Afterwards, you can chat with Edith, have a look at the book and buy a copy. Registration Admission to this book launch is free.
