Vessem: A village on the Beek
In Vessem is the De Kleine Beerze nature reserve: a landscape of meandering streams, green meadows and quiet footpaths. A beautiful walking area for strolling along the stream and waving reeds. There are footpaths, playgrounds, a food forest, vegetable garden, beach, swallow wall and a watchtower.
Along the way, you will discover varied nature, characteristic bridges and plenty of birds and other animals - a wonderful place to unwind. The entrance is next to Wilhelminalaan 19a in Vessem. Follow the red or yellow posts.

The Jacobusmolen
The original mill unfortunately burned down in 1893, after which the current Jacobusmolen was rebuilt. This round stone mountain corn mill consists of round stones and a mill mountain. With a 'flight' of 28 metres, it is the second largest mill in the province of North Brabant and also the largest corn mill in the Netherlands!

Discover the thrift shop!
De Jacobushoeve is a meeting place founded by Fons van der Laan. He realised that people these days have too few opportunities to socialise with one another in a relaxed manner. In the Kempen, this is known as ‘buurten’. Fons also felt that too many items (household goods, books, clothes) were being thrown away. He found volunteers willing to help him, as well as a usable farm. And so De Jacobushoeve – with its charity shop, garden, workshops and wereldwinkel – became a reality.
