The Kempen is formed by small communities forming dots on the sandy soil. One such dot is residential park De Donksbergen, near the village of Duizel. A community where two hundred and fifty people with mental disabilities - young and old mixed together - live and work.

Residential park De Donksbergen is actually like a small village. People live and work here and there is plenty to do every day. There is a farm, sports hall, swimming pool and disco. You can walk in the woods and for sports enthusiasts there is a trim track. There is a petting zoo and De Donkse Hoef: here you can buy cultivated vegetables, potatoes and onions.

The professional bakery at the park employs people with a distance to work. Nice for a stop to pick up some goodies. There is also a waterfront lunchroom and restaurant here.
