Het Duysels Huys
Discover a new cultural heart in Duizel! St John Baptist Church, now known as Het Duysels Huys, has been transformed and is ready to welcome you. Although the church was built in 1926 to replace its too-small predecessor, the building tells a much older story. In fact, the stately tower of the old church still stands next to it and watches over Duizel's history.
Step inside and be surprised by the unique and well-preserved inventory. Thanks to the Van der Leegte family and the Foundation for the Preservation of Duizel Cultural Heritage, the church and its complete contents have been saved and preserved for the future. Wander through the space and admire the beautiful wooden statue of St John, the centuries-old baptismal font and the breathtaking Stations of the Cross in mosaic designed by the famous Deurne doctor Wiegersma. Each piece tells its own story.
