Christmas market Eersel

We are pleased with it!

The way to get into the Christmas spirit: Visit a Christmas market! The beautifully lit stalls, the atmosphere, the delicious smells, cosy Glühwein... The historical Market Square with its cobblestones, historical buildings, the Mariakapel and the adjacent Nieuwstraat are perfect for an afternoon of Christmas shopping in nostalgic style. In Eersel, this Christmas market has become a true tradition, and this year it took place successfully for the 33rd time.

We were once again Extraordinary Content with it.

The focus is on creative, unique, handmade, gifts, Christmas arrangements and local products in the many stalls in the city centre. A perfect Sunday to take home some Christmas spirit with the whole family. They made good use of this. The big nativity scene opened its doors for the first time, the alpacas were lovingly cuddled and Father Christmas handed out treats and took photos with many people, Joseph and Mary had traded their donkey for the alpacas (from Riethoven) and wandered around among the crowd.

The ice carver did not complain about interest either. Impressive what kind of artwork he manages to conjure from a block of ice.

Handmade, luxury and wide range

Again this year, there was also the amazing Luxury Lane, with breathtaking creations by local artists and craftsmen. We found everything from sturdy pots, vases and home accessories by Ruighuid, to beautiful gold paintings, sumptuous wooden furniture, bronze sculptures and other decorations for in and around the house by various artists.

But there were also plenty of opportunities on the street to score unique handmade items. Whether it was a nice Christmas arrangement for the kitchen table, or a beautiful wreath for the door, the choice was vast.

Lots of entertainment

Thousands of people once again witnessed fun performances by the Ice King, a singing ice king, who glided through the audience. But also in attendance again this year was Murray's Regiment, the men from Scotland, with their beautiful bagpipes. The mop-up orchestra Krankjorum and dance group Let's Dance were also present. They provided great performances by our own residents, on the gazebo, through the streets and on Eersel's historic Market Square.

All in all, then, there was plenty of entertainment for everyone.

After strolling around, it was good to relax in the hospitality tent or one of the many catering establishments along the market. This was eagerly taken advantage of. Enjoying a mulled wine, waffle, cup of soup or other winter delicacies, warming up by the wood-burning stoves and chatting with acquaintances. On to Christmas and in a year's time, there will undoubtedly be the 34th edition. We wish you a very merry Christmas!
