The Kempenaar used to have to work hard for their money. And yet despite the rather hard life, you did not hear these people complaining. People were content with what they had. The symbol for the Kempenaar is therefore "The contente mens". The statue stands on the market square in Eersel. The figurine shows a farmer man wearing a cap. The man looks contentedly ahead, as if nothing could faze him.
