Mountain bikers can enjoy themselves on this challenging MTB route in Netersel in region De Brabantse Kempen. The mountain bike route is located on and around a former rubbish dump in a wooded area. Bikers from far and wide come to enjoy the steep climbs, descents, rock sections, drops, north shore and switch backs. The route has a length of over 4 kilometres and can be extended by linking it to the beautiful MTB routes in Bladel and Eersel. That way you pick up a lot of kilometres right away. The route was created by members of tour and cycling club Het Snelle Wiel Bestronics together with mountain bikers from the Netersel area. The challenging course is not suitable for everyone. "It really is a technical balance course, which you have very few of in the Netherlands," says Frank van Hoof, carteer of the route and mtb trainer at tour and cycling club Het Snelle Wiel Bestronics. "The course is entry-level World Cup course. You really don't have to be a pro, but you have to be very advanced technically," he illustrates, "The route is over four kilometres long. You have to be super good at cycling if you want to average 15 kilometres per hour on this lap. If you can ride it around 15 minutes, you will be among the fastest." And those who can handle the route? "They find it totally super cool."
Level
Mountain bike route Dak van Netersel is a black route: very difficult. Black routes are for the real competition rider, bike park fanatic or mountain biker with experience abroad on rocky terrain. Falls here are always at high speed, the landing is more difficult and the surface - like in a rockyard - is often harder. Definitely not suitable for the beginner. The route is classified by the NTFU. This MTB route is maintained by volunteers from VisitBrabant Routebureau. Is there something wrong with the route signposting?
